He cooked for the family, our friends and often the entire block. He was crowned king of BBQs by the neighborhood, and everyone always wanted to know what his secret was, but he would never tell. He maintained lifelong silence, securing the recipe with our Dad. And when Dad finally shared it with me, he knew he was imparting a small but mighty legacy.
